FAQ
for
First-Time Guests
FAQ is Internet
jargon
for
"Frequently
Asked
Questions."
If you
are planning to visit
Calvary Hill Baptist Church for the first time, here are some answers
to the questions most guests want to know before coming. We
hope
you find this information helpful.
Q: Where is the
church?
A:
for a map and directions.
Q:
What do
I need
to wear?
A:
Dress comfortably. The kind of clothes you
wear
to work are
what you'll see on Sunday mornings. During other meetings at
the
church
many
people wear casual clothes.
Q:
When do
I need
to arrive?
A:
Plan to arrive about ten minutes before the
beginning of the
service (add a little extra time if you have kids). Click HERE
for
the Service Schedule. Please note that special church occasions,
especially around holidays, may cause the rescheduling or
cancellation of services. The Church
Calendar will have the schedule
in detail (and any changes) for any
specific Sunday.
Q:
Where do
I
park?
A: Guest parking is located just next
to the
worship
center building, between the Fellowship Hall entrance and the Worship
Center entrance. If you are arriving for Bible Study Groups
or
for Wednesday Night Children's Choir, Youth Group or Real Life Groups,
use the Fellowship Hall entrance on the far left of the building,
behind the stairway. If you are coming for the AM Worship
service, one of our Celebration Services, or a special program, you
will want to use the Worship Center entrance on the far right of the
building, under the large overhang. The Fellowship Hall doors
are
kept secured during services.
Q:
Do I need a Bible?
A: All our teachings are founded upon the Bible. It is great if you have a Bible, and we encourage you bringing
it to church with you. If you do not own a Bible, there is
a Bible
in each pew so you can use to follow along with the pastor or teacher.
In addition, we project the Scriptures onto a screen so that you can
follow along as they are being read. If you do not own a Bible, please
see the pastor or another leader after the service and we will help you
get your very own Bible to take home.
Q: Will my
children be with me
during the service?
A: Great
preschool and children's Bible teaching
programs are
available for your children during most services. There are childcare
services for infants and toddlers On Sunday Mornings, Wednesday
evening, and for our monthly Celebration Service.
Children from age 4 through grade 6 have their
own worship service on Sunday Mornings in Childrens' Church.
Children's Church joins us in the Auditorium during the Musical Praise
& Worship portion of the service and is dismissed to Children's
Church prior to the message, so just bring your children into the
auditorium and they can follow the Children's Church leaders to their
own service. On
Wednesday Nights, this same age group has
Children's Choir rehearsal from September to March, and TeamKid from
April to August.
In
our monthly Celebration
Service, we ask children to sit with their families.
Childcare is
available for infants and preschoolers. This service has a
lot of
music and testimonies, with little preaching, so our younger children
often remain with their parents in this service, so this childcare is
available on request.
While you are welcome to keep your children with you during our
services- please consider these
options
for
your children- your children will enjoy participating in the available
activities, and you will enjoy the worship service, too!
